Preparation

2/23- 2 days ‘til Lent and the start of our Lenten nothing. I went to the grocery store yesterday and spent $166.47 which is about $60 higher than normal. I did have to buy dog food and $15 in stuff to make bread with but still. I fear that I did a little more stocking up than I was intending. I think that I have enough of a lot of things though and should get through the next 6 weeks without buying meat, bread, cheeses (may need American slices or string cheese), cleaning supplies. Things I worry about running out of are eggs, pasta, butter, bread items- not sure how much homemade bread we will go through and we need to figure out how to calculate the cost of a homemade loaf of bread. I know that I will have to buy milk, cereal, fruits and veggies. I am sure there are other things that I haven’t thought of- that will be what gets me. I am going to try to spend less than $40 a week at the grocery store but will be happy if we are less than $50- I am really not sure how this will go. My family (myself included) is not used to depriving ourselves of anything and I am really interested in seeing how we adapt to that.

I am enjoying these 2 days before Lent- I went out to Lunch with friends today and had 2 sodas. These are things that will be severely limited come Wednesday.
