2/25- We were off and running with Lent this morning and right off the Want Bug bit me and showed just how ingrained spending money on convenience or to ‘treat’ the kids/ourselves is. Jay and I were discussing our morning (he took the older boys to 6:30am mass and I took D to a dermatology appointment) and I said, “oh, maybe you can take the boys to McDonalds after mass for breakfast” but no, no we cant. It is Lent. And we are not spending money on wants.
Otherwise the day went well. Everyone is enthusiastic. There were quite a few clarifying questions being asked tonight but in a good way. Oh and all of my worries about whether I had been stocking up? Not an issue. We are out of butter, vegetable oil, and American cheese.
